PRAY WITH US
Excerpts taken from "Collected Works on Prayer" by Andrew Murray

And Jesus said to them, Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, Friend, lend me three loaves of bread: a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him. And suppose the one inside answers, don't bother me. the door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can't get up and I can't give you anything. I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity, he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.

Luke 11:5-8 NIV

CALLING ALL PRAYER WARRIORS

Intercession is the most perfect form of prayer, in that it is the prayer Christ prays on His throne. Some insights of true intercession are:

  1. An urgent need: The friend came at an untimely hour. He was hungry and could not buy bread.

    • Pray for Haiti's Urgent Need - food and material recources are very limited, unavailable/and costs high; businesses are being looted; network connections scant or cut off; skyrocketed gas prices and availability.

    • Pray for the gangs and evil people causing havoc - They need the Bread of Life - Jesus.

  2. The Willing Love - The friend took his weary, hungry friend into his house and into his heart, too. he sacrificed his night's rest and his comfort to provide for his friend.

    • Pray for Donalt and Jacob that they would lean in to the the Holy spirit's power for faithfulness, wisdom, courage as leaders and saints of God.

  3. The sense of importance - The friend at midnight was most willing to give bread, but he had none. Aside from the Sovereignty of god and his work in Haiti, Love Deaf Haiti in America is unable, at this juncture, to provide much of what is physically needed for Haiti. Prayer is our strongest weapon.

    • Pray for Board and friends of Love Deaf Haiti to persevere in sincere prayer. Our sense is powerlessness leads us to intersession to the One who holds all power and authority.

  4. The faith in prayer - what the awakened friend does not himself have, another can supply.

    • Pray Scripture "And my God sill supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

    • "Why are you so fearful, o you of little faith?" Matt 8:26

    • "Give and it will be given to you..." Luke 6:38

    • "Take up the whole armor of God...praying always". Ephesians 6:13, 18

Time spent in prayer will yield more than that given to work. prayer opens the way for God Himself to do His work in us and through us. Our greatest friend is none other than God Himself. let us learn that in darkness of midnight - at the most unlikely time and in our greatest need - when we have "nothing to set before" those we love, we have the Everlasting God and Father, who is waiting to be asking for help. Give ourselves to be intercessors. Cry out to God for the nation of Haiti, the Deaf School, the students and their families, Jacob, Donalt, and those who are coming to their aid by God's miraculous Intervention.
